Obituary for Shirley Mae Norris Shirley Mae Norris, age 91, of Clare, passed away peacefully at the MidMichigan Medical Center of Clare on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Shirley was born the only child of Arthur A. and Blanche E. (Fogler) Stachel in Lansing, MI. on November 17, 1926.

After growing up in Lansing and graduating from Eastern High, Shirley remained in the Lansing area for most of her life until moving to Clare in 2006. During her working years, she had briefly worked as a switchboard operator for Oldsmobile before serving as a key punch operator for the Auto Owners Insurance Group for 30 years. Shirley has a great love for knitting, ceramics, her animals (especially her cat Sweetie), but her greatest love was that for Elvis Presley.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family. Shirley is survived by her son Jeff Norris, of Farwell and her grandchildren Shelly (Luke) Hunter, of Lansing, Stacy Nygaard, of Menomonie, WI. , and Zach (Erin) Norris, of Savannah, GA.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Eli Nygaard and Dominik, Maliyah, and A.J. Norris. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Blanche Stachel. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes cremation has taken place.
