Obituary for Shirley May Dabney Muns Shirley May Dabney Muns, 84, of Smyrna died April 10, 2018. She was born March 27, 1934 in Coral Gables, Fl. to William and Lula May Dabney.

Shirley met the love of her life, Martin Lavern Muns, when he caught her as she (accidentally) tripped and fell down the church steps in Aiken, SC. Together, they raised two daughters and Shirley devoted herself to being a supportive wife and mother to her girls. Shirley and Martin moved from Aiken to Smyrna where she became an active member of First Christian Church of Marietta.

She also enjoyed working at Preston Rose Printing Company, growing vegetables in her garden, and painting – she was an excellent artist. Shirley’s greatest joy in life was her love and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, followed by her love of family. Shirley had a servant’s heart, whether it was in hosting family gatherings, helping in First Christian’s food pantry or loving on her four grandchildren.

Shirley always gave of herself and lived her life loving others. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband Martin Lavern (yes, Lavern and Shirley are together again! ).

She is survived by her two daughters: Terry Crowley (Steve) of Marietta and Pam Barton of Kennesaw; four grandchildren: Jennifer Kimberly (Brad) of Severn, MD, Ashley Jones (Erik) of Acworth, Sarah Corr (Cameron) of Kennesaw, and Rebecca Barton of Acworth; and three great-grandchildren: Joshua Jones, Harper Jones and Ferris Kimberly. Funeral Services will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday April 13, 2018 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Historic Chapel in Marietta with Rev. Steve Crowley and Rev.

Marlon Longacre officiating. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday April 12th at the funeral home. www.
