Shirley Mays Brooker, 70 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 beginning at 12:00 PM EST at New Beginnings Fellowship Church with Rev. Brad McDaniel officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3:00-5:00 PM EST at Colonial Funeral Home. Shirley was born January 4, 1949 in Bessemer, Alabama to Hubert Mays and Willie Pearl Calhoun.

She retired from Southern Bell, was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church, enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, friends and her Church. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Butch Brooker; daughter, Theresa Cornelius (Scott); son, Shannon Brooker; 2 brothers, Donald Mays and Doug Mays; grandchildren, Harris Cornelius, Brooks Cornelius and Montana Lott; many nieces and nephews.
