OBITUARY Shirley Warren Huffman January 23, 1935 – January 8, 2019 Hickory-Shirley Warren Huffman, 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on January 23, 1935 to the late Harold Warren and Estelle Day Warren in Catawba County. Shirley was a true southern lady with grace and charm who always put her family first.

She was a supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Shirley was also a graduate of Hickory High School and Clevenger Business College and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son, Scott Wayne; sister, Margie Warren Drum (Jim); brother, Wayne Warren (Edna); and nephew, Steve Warren.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Wayne Huffman of the home; son, Mark Huffman of Hickory; brother, Harley Warren (Lamina) of Valdese; nephews, Scott Warren, Kevin Warren, and Larry Warren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 12: 00 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 until 11:45 p.m. at the church.

The Rev. David Drysdale will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1911 Zion Church Road, Hickory, NC 28602. Hickory Funeral Home is serving the Huffman Family.
