Sidney Jack Falan, 68, of Lawton, Michigan, son of Eugene Sidney Falan and Martha Lucy Falan (VanOordt) passed away peacefully in his home after a recent diagnosis of terminal cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sharie Falan (Rizor), his children Jack Sidney Falan, Matthew Dustin Falan, Elizabeth Ashley Yeager (April), and Daniel James Perkins (Kelli), his dogs Sunshine and Pierce, and grandchildren Jacob Daniel Perkins, Klayton Tyler Perkins, Kala Brown (Taylor), Isobel Falan and great-grandchildren Morgan Brown and Aubree Brown. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Falan (Jenise), David Falan (Sue) and their respective children.

Sidney attended Cleary College, majoring in business. He is a retired Air Force Reservist having served from 1968 – 1974. He functioned as operations manager for Central Distributors of Beer in Romulus, MI for 14 years followed by Kalamazoo Beer Distributors for 25 years.

He was well liked in the community, mostly known for his dedication as a father and husband to his family. His children refer to him as the 110% dad, with a selfless nature toward others without asking for anything in return. He had a smile that lit up the room and carried a laugh that was contagious.

He took pride in maintaining a beautiful landscape and enjoyed exploring the country with a special appreciation of the Mighty Mac. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sidney and Sharie Falan Endowment Fund through Western Michigan University.
