Norman Popp, 87, of South Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 with his family at his side. Norman was born in Bangor, Mich.

On Oct. 26, 1930 to Loren and Myrtle Popp. Norman married Lillian Richards on Nov.

25, 1950 in South Haven. He belonged to the Operating Engineers Local 324 for 65 years. Norman enjoyed the family gatherings with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and next couple of months two more grandbabies.

His greatest joy came from being with his family at any occasion. Some of Norman’s happiest moments in life came from the many family vacations and cruises. And all of the Great RV Camping trips.

He was on the Board of Directors for the Van Buren County Youth Fair for 46 years and had the greatest dedication to the youth program. Norman is survived by; a son: Dale Popp; three daughters: Sandra (DeWayne) Lents, Christine Westerfield and Deborah (Tracy) Burrows, all from South Haven; 6 grandchildren: Jason and Jamie Popp, Sarah (Brian) Sholes, Cory Burrows, Casey (Robin)Burrows, Matt (Kate) Lents; 2 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Noah Sholes; great-great granddaughter Eleanor Sholes; his brother: Milford (Penny) Popp of Bangor, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lillian, and a sister, Reva Kuhn; daughter-in-law, Sandi Popp.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Norman’s memory to the Van Buren County Youth Fair, PO Box 271, Hartford, Michigan 49057 or to Caring Circle Hospice at Home, 05055 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
