Charles “Chuck” Edward Satkey, 90, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his home under Hospice care. He was born September 22, 1928 in Rush, New York and raised by John and Angeline (Gallas) VanWynen. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a paratrooper.

Chuck married June Haines on October 18, 1952. They shared 66 years in marriage. Chuck was a carpenter by trade and built homes in the South Haven area along with Marty Strebeck.

He enjoyed fishing. Chuck was a member of the First Church of God. He is preceded in death along with his parents by a step sister – Joanne.

Chuck is survived by his wife – June Satkey, children – Wanda Blackbear of South Haven, Charles (Sonda) Satkey of Bangor, Douglas Satkey of South Haven, and John (Elanor) Satkey of South Haven, grandchildren – Josh Satkey, Ethan Robertson, Holly Widdis, and Douglas Satkey, and great grandchildren – Cameron and Aubrey Satkey. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the First Church of God with Pastor Steve Starks officiating. Chuck will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
