Joyce Otten, 97, of Glendale, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 peacefully in her sleep at the Meadow Wood Nursing Home in Bloomingdale. Joyce was born March 24, 1921 to John S and Pearl (Lockwood) Davis in South Haven where she lived the majority of her life in addition to the Glendale area. She worked at Bohn Aluminum in South Haven for several years.

Joyce was a talented pianist and began playing the piano at the age of five. She would play with her brother Claude on the violin at community dances and parties. Joyce later lived out on the farm and took care of her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband – Crawford Davis and her last husband – Claude R. Otten. Also preceding are her three brothers – Richard, Claude, and Gerald Davis. Joyce is survived by her sons – Michael and Greg Davis and Claude and Jeff Otten, daughter – Sally Anderson, 15 grand and step-grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial event scheduled for early in the Summer of 2019. Friends may contact Joyce’s children for further details. Contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to any organization of the donor’s choice.
