Sierra’s Obituary Sierra Sue Alcorn, 78, passed away on February 10, 2019, in Morristown, Indiana. Sue was born on December 29, 1940, in Rushville, Indiana, to Elbert George Cross and Mildred Louise (McFahren) Cross. She was a 1959 graduate of New Salem High School.

She married Hume Wagers Alcorn Jr. in June of 1959. Sue and Junior had nine children before he preceded her in death on June 19, 1973. She gave birth to her tenth child in 1975.

Besides raising her ten children, she worked various jobs and lived all across the country. Sue was a member of the Arlington Christian Church. She loved cooking, playing bingo, gardening, crocheting, crafting, and was an avid reader.

Sue is survived by her children, Dewayne D. (Sheila) Alcorn of Danville, Kentucky, Evelyn S. (Jennings) Brock of Fort Myers, Florida, Mark A. Alcorn of Fort Myers, Florida, Thomas J. (Judy) Alcorn of Greenfield, Indiana, Darrell J. Alcorn of Parksville, Kentucky, Wendy J. (Raymond) Blevins of Rushville, Indiana, June “Ann” Boyd of Parksville, Kentucky, Hume (Bo) W. Alcorn III of Parksville, Kentucky, Matthew W. (Melinda) Alcorn of Midlothian, Texas, and Jennifer L. Taylor of Campbell, Texas. In addition to her children, she is survived by one sister, Carolyn Blevins, of Greensburg, Indiana, and one step-brother, Chester Gabbard, of Milroy, Indiana. Sue has twenty-five grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Cross, a sister, Donna Smith, and one grandson, Arron Alcorn. Services will be held at 10AM Friday, February 15, 2019, at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville, Indiana, with pastor Gary Holt presiding. Friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, February 14, 2019, from 5-8pm and Friday morning at 9am.

Burial will follow services at Laurel North Cemetery in Franklin County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Disease and Dementia Foundation and Arlington Christian Church.
