Obituary for Sister Dorothy M. Petty Sister Dorothy M. Petty, 95, of San Antonio, was born July 18, 1922 in Beaumont, Texas and went to be with her Lord on June 3, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas. A service of worship honoring her life and ministry will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the River of Life Worship Center in Vidor, Texas. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Sister Dorothy was a former resident of Vidor and spent her life in ministry with her husband, Reverend William Petty, preaching the Gospel of Christ and building churches throughout the area, including the Vidor Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend William Petty; parents, Christopher and Tessie (Ballamy) Maida; sisters, Mary Aylor, Joyce McCoy, Shirley Wingate; and brother, Chris Maida.

She is survived by one son, William A. Petty and wife, Ellaire, of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Michele Petty; and brother, Sam Maida.
