Obituary for Sophia Legates Sophia (Wyda) Legates, 97, of Seaford passed away peacefully at home with family on Friday, September 21, 2018. Mrs. Legates was born May 14, 1921 in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late George and Mary Wyda. Mrs. Legates retired from Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford and continued as a volunteer there.

She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford. Mrs. Legates was preceded in death by her son Robert. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Smullen of Delmar, MD; daughter Marcia Dunn of Seaford, with whom she lived; son Gary Legates and wife Janet of Fenwick Island; and grandson Clint Dunn and wife Nidia and children of Seaford, and granddaughter Karen Tull and children.

Mrs. Legates family would like to thank Dr. Curtis Smith and staff, Delaware Hospice staff and volunteers, and Linda Wright, her caregiver for their excellent care. All Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Legates name to Christ Lutheran Church, 315 N. Shipley St., Seaford, DE 19973.
