Stanley LeRoy Elledge the son of Kenneth and Mary Nedbal Elledge was born September 15, 1932 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska near Hardy. He departed this life on Saturday April 28, 2018 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 85 years. Stan graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1950.

He was baptized and confirmed on October 7, 1956 at Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska. Stan enlisted with the United States Airforce on active duty from 1951 through 1955 and in active duty from 1955 to 1959. While serving he was an airport mechanic during the Korean War.

During his time with the Airforce, Stan was united in marriage to Kay Margaret Deterding on August 30, 1953 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. This union was blessed with the birth of four children; two daughters and two sons. Stan worked for Ideal Cement retiring in 1986 and later he went to work for Superior Publishing.

Stan had been a member of Centennial Lutheran Church and the Superior American Legion for 57 years. Stan was instrumental in starting the Avenue of Flags at the Evergreen Cemetery; he started with 16 flags and today there are over 300 United States Flags displayed. Stan was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

He was always there with a story and a little wit. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ron, mother and father-in-law Edgar and Edna Deterding, son Tim and grandson Nathan Lemke. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Kay, daughter Pamela Heitman and husband Ken of Webber, KS; daughter Marcia Lemke and husband Roger of Hastings, NE; son Steven Elledge and wife Rhonda of Webber, KS; 11 grandchildren: Heath (Daunia) Lemke; Josh (Amanda) Heitman, Nick (Laura) Elledge, Michelle (Bobby) Brooks, Michaela (Randy) Borrell, Kris Heitman, Kendra (Derek) Lipker, Adam Heitman, Kortney Fuller, Brody Elledge and Austinn Elledge; 16 great grandchildren: Blasie, Dylan, Brynn and Drake Lemke, Kale, Brynn and Lana Heitman, Nathan, Jasper and Laney Elledge, Logan Lipker, Rileigh and Rece Borrrell, Logan, Jackson and Aubree Brooks, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held this Wednesday 2:00 PM, May 2, 2018 at the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, NE. Pastor Robert Hopkins will be officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Nebraska.
