Stella Carol Cone, 68, of Sanford, NC passed away Thursday September 13, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. She was born June 13, 1950 in Lee County, NC to the late Virginia and Donald Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Al Cone.

Stella worked as a librarian for several years in North Dakota and Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of the Lion’s Club and an active member of Salem Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two sons Ray Wicker… Read More » (Kimberly) and Richard Wicker (Lisa) of Sanford; two step-sons Allie Cone III of Clearwater, FL and Chris Cone (Stephanie) of Atlanta, GA; a step-daughter Allison Cone of Providence, RI; a sister Gloria Johnson (Lee) of Carthage; a brother Victor Burns (Connie) of Carthage; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 22 at 10 AM at Salem Presbyterian Church 3554 Avents Ferry Road Sanford, NC. Memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Carolina Presbytery Re Center 807 West King Street Elizabethtown, NC 28337. Services are entrusted to Miller-Boles Funeral Home, Sanford.
