OBITUARY Stephen Allen Harris March 26, 1940 – September 2, 2018 Stephen Allen “Steve” Harris, 78, long-time resident of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018. Born March 26, 1940 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Estes) Harris. Steve was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a retired Indiana State Police Officer of 34 years.

Steve was a true fan of the Old West and was an avid reader of western novels. He never met a stranger and was always a true friend. He loved to play euchre and poker with his good friends and family.

Steve is survived by his wife Diana “Di” Harris; two sons, Scott (Erin) Harris, Gregg (Martha) Harris; step son, Christopher Smith; grandchildren, Anwen, Zane, and Amelia Harris, Gwendolyn and Luke; step-daughter, Stephanie Owens; step-grandchildren, Joel, Jessica, Jazmyn, Kari, and Tiffany; brothers and sisters, Mike (Betsy) Harris, John (Betty) Harris, Phil (Monica) Harris, Candy (Robert) Bohlender, Thomas (Barbara) Harris, Timothy (Joanna) Harris, and Julie McCammon; sister-in-law, Sharon Harris; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he cherished. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dr. James Harris, and David Harris; step-children, Stacy and Shaun McCammon. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at American Legion Post 47, 601 Reed Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815.

A gathering of friends and family to immediately follow at the American Legion.
