Obituary for Stephen J. Fall Stephen (Steve) was called home on Saturday December 22, 2018, succumbing to cancer. He worked and resided in Schenectady and Scotia New York until 1965, when he moved to Wappingers Falls, New York to begin his employment with the IBM Corporation where he worked as a Machinist Specialist until his retirement in July of 1987. Prior to his employment with IBM, he worked at Rochester Ordinance and the Navy Depot until 1964.
Stephen was the son of the late Joseph Peter and Agnes (Faran) Fall, and was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Eunice Fall (Kelly) of 40 years in 1993. A veteran, and proud member of the US Navy, Steve served from 1945-1949. Steve was a devout catholic and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls for 53 years.
Steve volunteered for many years with the Wappingers Falls branch of the Jaycee organization. He loved country music and western movies and was an avid fan of the NY Mets. Most recently, he enjoyed many casino trips with his siblings.
Steve is survived by a step-daughter Jerrie Kheir (Stathes) and grandson Zane Kheir of Poughkeepsie, NY, a daughter Nancy Fall, and son Mark Fall both of Wappingers Falls NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. His surviving siblings include Josephine Pyrek of Pleasant Valley, NY, and Benjamin Fall of Whitesboro, NY. Steve was predeceased by his brothers Mitchell Fall and Joseph Fall, Brothers In-law Tony Pyrek, Robert Kelly, Bernard Kelly, and sisters in-law Sally Kelly, Genevieve Kelly, Regina Fall and Patricia Fall.
Calling hours will be Thursday December 27, 2018, from 4 – 6 PM at the Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 East Main St. in Wappingers Falls. Additional calling hours and a mass of Christian burial will be held in Schenectady, NY at a time and place yet to be determined. Burial will be in the Most Holy Redeemer cemetery in Niskayuna, NY, Following the mass.
