Steve A. Dixon Stephen Andrew Dixon, 60, of Marietta passed away July 6, 2018 at Heartland of Marietta following an extended illness. Steve was born on March 24, 1958 in Parkersburg, WV and was the son of James Bert Dixon II and Naomi W. Lemon Dixon, both of Parkersburg. Steve lived his early years in Vienna, Barlow and moved to Marietta, where He graduated from Marietta High School and then attended Marshall University on a diving scholarship.

He had worked for BF Goodrich, Huntsman and retired from Chevron after twenty-six years with the company. In the 1980’s – 90’s he performed as Ronald McDonald for many McDonald franchises in Ohio and West Virginia. He had enjoyed and preformed magic for many years and pursued that interest full time following retirement from Chevron.

He had the privilege of performing at the White House, The Greenbrier and the Kentucky Derby. Steve used his magic to share his Christian faith in Children’s Ministry, drug and alcohol programs and anti-bullying campaigns. He had performed at many local restaurants, festivals and with various prison ministries.

As a magician, he was a member of the Magic Ring #97 for several years. He always enjoyed art and was very creative, painting and air brushing cars and musical instruments. Steve’s faith was an important part of his life and he was a member of New Life Church in Marietta for twenty-eight years where he served in many capacities including Sunday School teacher and in music ministry.

More recently he was a member of North Pleasants Apostolic Tabernacle in St. Mary’s where he also served with the Sunday School program, music ministry and with the church school. Steve is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years Carol Ann Brooks Dixon, son Joe Dixon (Julia), mother Naomi W. Lemon Dixon, father Jim B. Dixon (Debbie), brother James B. Dixon, sister Sue Christman (Troy), uncle Bill Dixon (Ruth Ann), his church family, Pastor Terry Lough (Vicki) and many friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, Marietta with Pastor Terry Lough officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 on Tuesday and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The family has requested that Memorial Contributions can be made to the North Pleasant Apostolic Tabernacle 87 Iron Horse Dr. St. Mary’s WV 26170. Special thanks to Bill and Pat Peoples for their assistance, kindness and use of their facility.
