Steve A. Lopicka, age 65 of Forest Lake died on April 16, 2018 after a lengthy courageous battle with Fabry’s disease. Steve was born on April 22, 1952 in Medicine Lake, Minnesota. He was adopted as an infant and lovingly raised by Steve and Ivy (Paddock) Lopicka in Ogilvie, MN.

Steve and Jennifer enjoyed many car shows and swap meets together. On April 22, 1983 he married Jennifer Millsap of Mora, MN. They have resided since 1987 in Forest Lake and are members of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in North Branch.

In the late 80’s, Steve learned he was adopted and was fortunate to meet his biological siblings and their families. He always considered himself to be blessed to have great adoptive parents and to have an opportunity to connect with his birth family. We want to thank Regions Hospital staff, HealthPartners’ Clinics, and specifically the palliative care/hospice program for all of the outstanding care.

We have deep gratitude to Dr. Vishal Sagar, nephrologist and his Davita home hemodialysis care team with us every step of the way over the past five years. Last, but not least, we appreciate all of the compassion and care from our PCAs, co-workers, friends and family during Steve’s journey. To share a quote from St. Teresa of Avila: Let nothing disturb you.

Let nothing frighten you. All things are passing away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things; whoever has God lacks nothing.
