Richard A. Wilcox, age 83 of Grantsburg, Wisconsin formerly of Sunrise, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis with family by his side. Richard was born on April 26, 1935 at Sunrise to parents Alan and Mary (Keacher) Wilcox. Richard attended and graduated from North Branch High School.

After high school he farmed and later worked at NASA in Cape Canaveral, Florida. He returned to Minnesota where he again farmed and worked construction… Read More » most of his life. He raised cucumbers and loved gardening as well as raising pheasants.

He married Margareta Thompson in 1958 and was blessed with five children. Margaretta passed away in 1981 and he later met and married Maryanne Maston in 2001. He attended the Seventh Day Adventists Church in Frederic, Wisconsin.

He loved telling stories as well as the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a Christian man who really loved Jesus. He is survived by his wife Maryanne; children, Debra (Joel) Moore, Rick Wilcox, Vickie Wilcox, Mike Wilcox and Ellen “Ellie” Wilcox; step daughters; Madeline Chavis, Sarah Herman and Katy Clyde, his 14 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two sisters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Mary Anne, brother, Edward Wilcox, and first wife, Margareta in 1981. “He was one of a kind, a true Renaissance man who could do just about anything and was able to make people smile with his jokes and his smile”.
