Leon was born on January 8, 1938 in North Branch to parents, Albert and Emma (Johnson) Ekstrom. Leon is survived by his three sons, Kirby (Jan) Ekstrom of North Branch, Drew (Robin) Ekstrom of Somerset, WI and Heath (Leah) Ekstrom of Lutsen.
