Joyce Ruth Ekstrand age 81, of Osceola, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Christian Community Home in Osceola. Joyce was born on December 29, 1936 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Emil and Ruth (Mason) Wacha. On May 1st, 1954 she married William Ekstrand in Teaneck, New Jersey.

This marriage was blessed with four children. Joyce was employed at UFE as a machinist, LADD memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide, and at Shafer Electronics where she worked until her retirement. Joyce… Read More » enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking and fishing.

She especially enjoyed the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William. Joyce is survived by her children, Ivy (Mark) Schulte, Ron (Becky) Ekstrand, Holly Ekstrand (Scott) and Cher Bradt (Geoff); 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Adele Niederhofer of NJ, Blance Craton of NJ, and Linda Pregenzer of NJ; brothers, Edward (Donna) Wacha of NJ, Arthur (Karen) Wacha of AR; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
