58, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Brenda ( Bertoldi ) Messa. He was born in Providence a son of the late William and Bernadette (Desroches) Messa.

He was the loving father of Melissa O’Keefe and her husband Patrick of Cranston, Steven J. Messa and his wife Rochelle of Cranston and Mario W. Messa of Atlanta, GA. He was the devoted grandfather of Patrick O’Keefe Jr., James O’Keefe and Steven M. Messa, also survived by his Father and Mother- in- Law Tony and Elaine ( Ferragamo ) Bertoldi of Cranston. He leaves behind 9 surviving siblings and 1 deceased brother.

He was the brother-in-law of Joseph Bertoldi and Tony Bertoldi. His passion in life was his wife, children and grandchildren. Steve was self-employed as a toolmaker and machinist and was the owner and operator of Steve Messa Tool Company.

His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed being a gunsmith. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston at 10am. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
