Obituary for Steven J. Goedde Steven J. Goedde, 62, of Delphos, passed away Friday morning, August 17, 2018, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 13, 1955 in Lima to John and Norma (Grone) Goedde, his father preceded him in death, his mother survives in Delphos. On May 29, 1976 he married Jane (Bockey) Goedde, who survives in Delphos.

Steve is also survived by two sons, Keith (Barb) Goedde of Columbus, and Kyle (Megan) Goedde of Delphos; two brothers, Mark (Lisa) Goedde of Longmont, Colorado, and Tim (Alice) Goedde of Delphos; two sisters, Deb (Bob) Elwer, and Pat (Gary) Ricker, both of Delphos; five grandchildren, Blake, Connor, Owen, Sophia, and Ella; in-laws, Marie Guest of St. Louis, Missouri, Nancy and Kenny Rumschlag of Delphos, Paul Bockey of Delphos, and Alice and Ron Rumschlag of New Haven, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Jim and Martha Bockey, and a sister-in-law, Pat Winicker. Steve was a 1974 graduate of Delphos St. John’s.

He spent over 26 years in law enforcement, including the Delphos Police Department. He retired in 2017 from the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Steve was a caring, loyal and reliable father and role model to his sons and daughters-in-law. His greatest pride was his grandchildren, and being part of their lives and activities. He enjoyed outdoor projects, riding his motorcycle and spending time with close friends and family.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to CHP Hospice, Van Wert.
