Obituary for Steven M. Jones Steven M. Jones, 65, of Oxford, NE died Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Memorial services to be held at a later time. Memorials are suggested to the family for designation at a later date.

Steve was born May 18, 1953 in Kearney to Wayne and Betty Jones. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1971 then attended Hastings Community College. He worked for many years as a carpenter and handy man in the Kearney, Alma and Oxford area Steve enjoyed finding “The Bargain” by searching auctions and at garage sales.

He had a big heart for family and liked getting together for family gatherings. He enjoyed listening to a variety of music, but especially loved the ‘blues’ and would often play his guitar and harmonica. Surviving relatives include his brother, David Jones and wife Marcia of Poulsbo, Washington and his sister, Sue Sheneman and husband Dale of Oxford, NE; nephews Jason Baker of Holdrege, NE, Tim Baker of Lincoln, NE, Luke Sheneman and wife Norma of Arapahoe, NE, Matt Jones of Washington State and niece Sarah (Jones) and husband Jeff O’Donnell of Washington State.

Great nephews Sebastian and Asher O’Donnell and Grayson Sheneman. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his dog and beloved companion, Daisy. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Steven M. Jones please visit our Sympathy Store.
