Obituary for Dennis “Joe” Broe Dennis “Joe” Broe, 67 Covington, GA Dennis “Joe” Broe, 67, of Covington, GA died September 17, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek with Father Alex Borzych officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Elm Creek.

Military honors will be provided by the Elm Creek American Legion Post #316 in conjunction with the Offutt Air Force Honors Team. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the church with a vigil Prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm. Dennis (Joe) was born in Kearney, NE on July 27, 1951 to Mathew and Betty Broe of Elm Creek.

He graduated from Elm creek High School and served four years in the United States Air Force. During this time, he served 18 months in Taipei, Taiwan. Joe was married to Connie Jean (Andreasen) Broe on April 8, 1972; they were married 46 years.

During this marriage they lived in Austin, TX moving to Elm Creek to raise his family and later retired in Covington, GA. Dennis retired in 2016 from Union Pacific Railroad after more than 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, raising quarter horses, and boating.

4-H was one of the things he loved the most as he grew up, also participating in Westside Feedera with all 3 of his children. Dennis is survived by his three children, Jeremy J. Broe and his wife Carmen of Woodstock, GA, Justin J. Broe of Woodstock, GA and Megan Ryba and husband Jacob of Chapman, NE; his 2 grandchildren Sebastian and Stefan; his 2 sisters Pamela Tool and husband Richard of Elm Creek; Cynthia Schroeder and husband Mark of Elm Creek; mother Betty L. Broe of Kearney; Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Mathew K Broe and brother Ronald Broe and niece Molly Broe In Lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
