Obituary for Harold M. “Brownie” Fager Harold M. “Brownie” Fager, 94, Kearney died Monday, September 17, 2018 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, September 21, 2018 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Buttermore officiating. Burial will be at Kearney Cemetery with Military Rites provided by Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team, Kearney American Legion Post #52, and Kearney V.F.W. Post #759.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Veteran’s Memorial and the Central Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Kearney. Harold was born April 2, 1924 in Oak, Nebraska to Floyd and Minnie (Petersen) Fager.

The family moved to Flagler, Colorado. He grew up and attended school in Flagler. On July 29, 1943 Brownie married L. Marie Fry in Goodland, Kansas.

Brownie entered the Army on July 15, 1943 and served during World War II earning The Bronze Star, Presidential Citation, and the Good Conduct medals until he was discharged in January of 1946. After the service they moved to Kearney in 1947. Brownie worked as a service manager for Luth Farm Equipment and then Speak Motor Company.

Brownie is survived by his sons, Harold and Marge Fager of Kearney, Jim and Jean Fager of Elkton, VA; daughters, Karen and Doug Daake of Kearney, Cindy and Lee Dady of Wells, MN; sisters, Shirley and Richard Duncan of Kennewick, WA, Edna Clovis of Tigard, OR; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
