Obituary for William O. Griffin William Griffin, 68 Gibbon resident William O. Griffin, 68 of Gibbon died Friday, September 14, 2018 at his home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday at the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. Memorials in William’s name are kindly suggested to the family for future designation.

William Otis Griffin was born January 21, 1950 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Carroll and Valeria (Zigler) Griffin. He grew up on a farm outside of Gibbon and later moved to town as a young boy. Bill worked for his parent at “Griffin’s Café”.

He was a 1968 graduate of Gibbon High School. Bill married Patricia Lasich in 1967. To this union one son, Craig was born.

He would later marry Katherine Isaac in 1973. To this union three children, Zach, Tara and Nesha were born. Bill worked various jobs until working for the Turkey Plant for several years.

He later worked for the City of Kearney. Bill loved collecting coins and attending coin shows. He was an avid baseball fan.

He enjoyed coaching baseball, spending time outdoors and watching the New York Yankees. Bill cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Bill is survived by his son Craig Manfull of Jacksonville, FL, Zach Griffin and wife Christina of Elkhorn; daughters, Tara Nietfeld and husband Eric of Gibbon and Nesha Danielson and husband Corey of Minden; grandchildren Tiffany and Turner Griffin of Grand Island, Tanner and Caden Griffin of Elkhorn, Alaysa and Addisyn Shaw of Gibbon, Hannah, paige, Peyton, Ellie and Tanner Nietfeld of Gibbon, Bricia and Yahyda Castaneda of Gibbon, Branden and Emma Danielson of Minden; sisters Marie Fitzgerald and Etha Griffin both of Gibbon; as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
