Obituary for Shirley J. Davenport Shirley J. Davenport Elm Creek Resident Shirley J. Davenport, 84, of Elm Creek, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand, Nebraska. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Elm Creek Christian Church in Elm Creek. Inurnment will follow the services at Elm Creek Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Shirley was born November 6, 1933 in Byron, Nebraska to Ivan “Tiny” and Marie (Behrens) Conzelman. On November 20, 1954, Shirley was united in marriage to Gale D. Davenport, and to this union four sons were born: Gary, Terry, Ivan and Scott.

Gale preceded her in death on March 14, 1989. Shirley loved golfing, bowling and crocheting. But above all she cherished her time spent with her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Gale; her parents, two sons: Terry and Ivan, and granddaughter, Candy. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gary Davenport and his wife, Kathy of Kearney, and Scott Davenport and his wife, Nancy of Overton, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren: Heather (Michael), Holly (Thane), Matthew (Nicole), Tyler, Levi (Elicia) and Jakob; 6 great-grandchildren: Aimee, Chase, Quenten, Creighton, Indy and Dean; one great-great grandchild: Kayson; daughter-in-law: Holly Davenport; along with many other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to the Elm Creek Fire Department or Elm Creek Christian Church.
