SMITH—Steven Jared Smith, 34, born April 1, 1984 in Jacksonville, FL went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2019. He is survived by his three children, Steven Smith, Jared Smith and Isabel Smith, his parents Alvin and Darlene Smith and his brothers Alvin L. Smith, II and Matthew D. Smith. Steven enjoyed playing basketball, watersports, fishing with his sons, hunting and taking his children to the beach.

He graduated from Baldwin High School in 2002, attended Edward Waters College on an athletic scholarship and attended Southeastern University and the University of North Florida. He enjoyed a career as a Deputy Sheriff in Baker County and Pinellas County where he was promoted to a detective in the narcotics division. He also served as a special agent in the US DEA.

His career achievements include becoming a certified law enforcement instructor and a field training officer. Steven had a deep faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His greatest treasures in life were his precious children.

A celebration of his life will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00am at Westside Family Worship Center, 9717 103rd St, Jacksonville, FL, 32210 with Pastor Jim Wilder officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd. , Orange Park, FL.
