Susan’s Obituary Susan Sutton, 77, of Remington, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Franciscan Health Hospital of Rensselaer. She was born November 13, 1941 in Hoytville, OH to the late Henry and Francis (Mawer) Scheerer. She was a graduate of Jackson Township High.

Her marriage was to Gerald Allen “Butch” Sutton on July 2, 1960. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2005. Susan lived in rural Remington from 1976 until 2017 when she moved into town.

She worked at the Remington True Value for 10 years and then worked and retired from Blue Flame Propane of Remington, now Suburban Propane, after 28 years. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed traveling to horse shows, spending time with her little dog Jack, and attending family reunions and functions. Surviving is a daughter, Rhonda (husband: Gerald “Jerry”) Sondgerath of Remington and a step-grandson, Dustin Sondgerath of Watseka, IL.

A brother, Mick (wife: Loretta) Scheerer of Freemont, OH; sisters, Sally McHaffie of Tiffin, OH, Nancy (husband: Jack) Scheidler of Pandora, OH, Dina (husband: Alan) Bowers of Deshler, OH, Mary Oxley of New Mexico, Betty Long of Bowling Green, OH, Donna Gordon of McComb, OH, and Lois George of Ottowa, OH. Sister-in-law Kay Welsh, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband are two sisters, Margaret Bibler and Norma Oman.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM (EST) Monday, February 4, 2019 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Funeral Service 11 AM (EST) Tuesday, February 5, 2019 also at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Bud Larimore to officiate.

Interment to follow in Remington Cemetery. The family has requested that casual attire be worn by those attending the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made in Susan’s name to the Jasper County Trailblazers Horse and Pony Club.
