Obituary for Sybil Marie Marcel Sybil Chauvin Marcel, 85, a resident of Bayou Blue, passed away on October 14, 2018. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 9am to 11am, with the service to start at 11am, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Bayou Blue. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia Marcel Cortez (Carl), Brenda Marcel, Clyde Marcel (Marjorie), and Curtis Marcel (Becky “Tink”); siblings, Doris Duplantis, Bobby Chauvin, and Lloyd Chauvin; grandchildren, Wanda Belanger, Jesse Dufrene, Jared Cortez, Dannell Dufrene, Jacob Dufrene, Melissa Marcel, Adam Marcel, C.J. Marcel, Eva Rivas, Nicke Ernst, John Melitos, Sley Sanchez, Alex Sanchez, Amiee Belanger, Sarah LeCompte, Rick Cenac, Stephanie Turner, Taylor Turner; great grandchildren, Ashley Belanger, Seth Dufrene, Lucy Dufrene, Maya Barrow, Austin Cortez, Sydney Belanger, Grace Belanger, Stephanie Belanger, Nicholas Melitos, Mathew Melitos, Isabella Melitos, Christos Melitos, Athena Rivas, Emma and Evan Ernst, Jacob Sanchez, Andrew LeCompte, Ethan LeCompte, Aiden LeCompte, Ricky Cenac, and Baby Marcel on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Marcel; parents, Anthony Chauvin and Beatrice Samanie; siblings, Enos Chauvin, Peter Chauvin, Percy Chauvin, and Floyd Chauvin; grandchild, Carl Melitos. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Louis Catholic Church or to the Breast Cancer Society.
