Obituary for Mrs. Sylvia Ann Head Sylvia Ann Head, 71, of Yulee, Florida, formerly of Tallahassee, passed away on June 4, 2018, at her home in Yulee. A daughter of the late E.J. and Myrtle Henderson Hughes, she was born in Columbia, Alabama on July 11, 1946. Also preceding her in death are her husband, John William Head; and her siblings, Tommy J. Hughes, Cathy Hughes Magruder and Caroline Hughes Beasley.

She was a retired customer service representative and enjoyed playing Facebook games, cooking and gardening. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Mitchell Zippay, Jo Anne Curry (husband, Al), Horace Hilory Head (wife, Jennifer); grandchildren, Alexander Zippay, David Zippay, Kyle Curry, Brett Curry, Kendall Curry and Hunter Head; great-grandchildren, Legion Zippay and Tara Zippay; and nieces and nephews, Richard Bruce, Doris Beck, Donna Longfellow, Denise Hendricks, Debra Magruder Lasek, Bobby Magrudger, Michelle Magruder Hooper and George Donny Melvin. She is also survived by her fur-ever companion, Kenai.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, Monday, June 11, 2018, at Abbey Funeral Home, with the funeral following at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Online condolences may be expressed at www.
