Obituary for Ted J. Lanpher Ted J. Lanpher, 82, of Advance, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018. He was born August 24, 1936 in Painton, Missouri to Sam and Maude (Fenimore) Lanpher. His parents and two infant sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Simmons) Lanpher; daughters, Karen Lanpher Keene (Kevin) of Whitewater, Missouri and Jennifer Huskey (Jack) of Delta, Missouri; son, Scott Lanpher of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Jessica Statler, Taylor Wilkinson, Tyler Huskey and Austin Huskey; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Nick Lanpher of Cape Girardeau. Ted grew up in Delta and was a 1954 graduate of Delta high school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961 in El Paso, Texas.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 513 for 50 years, while also working the family farm. Ted served his community by serving on the Advance School Board and the Fairview Cemetery Board for many years. Ted enjoyed morning coffee with old school friends at the coffee shop in Delta.

After retirement Ted and Barbara spent their winters in Okeechobee, Florida and enjoyed fishing on Lake Okeechobee and spending time with their many friends there. A memorial service will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fairview Baptist Church in Advance. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will follow with full military services at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to the Fairview Cemetery, 4218 State Highway NN, Advance, Missouri 63730. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ted J. Lanpher please visit our Sympathy Store.
