Teddy Darrel Benson died peacefully Friday, January 18th in the presence of his family. Son of the late Isaac L. Benson and Gladys M. Benson. The loving husband of Myrna Cooke Benson of 59 years.

Beloved father of Tony Darrel Benson (Michelle) and Tammy Leigh Aguilar (Glenn). Also survived and missed by five granddaughters, Kaci Aguilar Treadaway (Chad), Kaleigh Aguilar Porcelli (Matthew), Kristen Benson Mastrianni (Jordan), Katelynn Benson, Kami Aguilar and four great-grand children who affectionately knew him as “Papa” as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sister Doris Lee Wiseman and his brother Eldon Dewellan “Bud” Benson.

A graduate of Cotton Valley High School and business owner of South Louisiana Environmental Control, Teddy served as a deacon of First Baptist Church of Venice and Buras-Triumph Baptist Church and later a member of Calvary Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse. An avid outdoorsman, sailor, inventor, and family man, Teddy’s passion for life was ultimately found in his love for his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. The family will receive visitors at First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse, 8828 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA from 10 a.m. until 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 followed by a funeral service at Noon.

Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
