Thelma “Jean” Brown September 23, 1934 – June 16, 2018 Thelma “Jean” Brown, 83, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 3:40 am in her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor Terry McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation hours will be from 10:00 am -1:00 pm, Thursday in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. She was born September 23, 1934 in Manchester, Tennessee to the late Elmer and Effie (Walden) Haggard. On October 4, 1952 in Rossville, Georgia she married Thomas Brown who preceded her in death on November 2, 1993.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathy (Jack) Kraemer of La Porte, Indiana, Regina (Joe) Burgess of Michigan City, Indiana, Rhonda (Don) Kemp of Paducah, Kentucky and a son, Doug (Esther) Brown of Michigan City, Indiana; 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren; brother, Alvin Haggard of Manchester, Tennessee; sister, Dean Arnold of Lexington, Tennessee along with many nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Haggard and sister, Arlene Newland; Contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
