Obituary for Thelma Zimmermann Thelma (Phillips) Zimmermann of Evansville, IN went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018. She was born November 28, 1919 in Sebree, KY to the late Herman and Jimmie “Ashby” Phillips. Thelma had three brothers, Herman, Woodrow and Parker Phillips; nephew, Mark Phillips who are all deceased.

She married Hugo Zimmermann on June 22, 1943, who had a wonderful career in the Air Force. She followed him to many assignments faithfully supporting him all the while. Thelma was very involved in the activities at the bases.

She was also a model for a period of time. Although they had no children, she cared deeply for all her nieces and nephews. Thelma is survived by sister-in-law, Betty Phillips; nephews, Jimmie Phillips, Scott Phillips, Robert, Frank and Hugo Zimmermann, Jack Ost, Herman and Jerry Denstorff; nieces, Pamela Dickie, Margaret Lear, Jimmie Dolan, Donna Marshall, Joan Ritter, Phyllis Watson, and Jean Goweay.

Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2018, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Services will begin at 11:00 am at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave. Evansville with.

Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to South Spencer Scholarship Foundation 2256 W. Fairview Drive Rockport, IN 47635. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Holiday Retirement Home and Heritage Hospice.
