Poland – Theresa J. Mangone, 95, died Tuesday evening, May 22, 2018 at Hampton Woods. Theresa was born September 16, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Michael and Esther (Menna) Zaccari. Raised in Pittsburgh, she was a 1940 graduate of Westinghouse High School.

While living in Pittsburgh, she met Dominic M. Mangone when he was serving in the United States Navy and they were wed on November 8, 1945. They later moved to Hammond, Indiana, where they raised their son and daughter. In 1977, they relocated to Poland and she was employed at the Youngstown Unemployment Office.

Mrs. Mangone was a member of Holy Family Church and active in several of its groups, the KCettes, Red Hat Society, and the Youngstown Unemployment Alumni Club. In her free time, along with her husband Dominic, they enjoyed hosting and entertaining family and friends in their home. They loved cooking for everyone and sharing their love of a good meal.

Theresa also enjoyed playing cards, board games, and reading, but more than anything she enjoyed surrounding herself around her family. Her husband, Dominic, preceded her in death on June 7, 2004. She is survived by her children, Dominic M. (Allene) Mangone of Medinah, IL and Mary Jo (Michael) Marando of Poland; five grandchildren, Gina (Paul) Leuer of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael (Monica) Mangone of Itasca, IL, Joseph (Marjorie) Mangone of Scottsdale, AZ, Elizabeth (Cameron) Brady of Itasca, IL, and Gia Marando of Manhattan, NY; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Carmella Bencivenga, Esther “Dolly” Ignelzi, and Anthony (Agnes) Zaccari, all of Oakmont, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Millie Pagano and Antoinette Costantino. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Rd. , Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church with Msgr.

William Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery. Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Mrs. Mangone’s name to the Mahoning Valley Rescue Mission, 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Youngstown, Ohio 44510.
