Thomas Earl McCune Jr., 82, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019, at Shawnee Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 26, 1936, the son of Thomas Earl Sr. and Goldie (Goodin) McCune in Kansas City, KS. On December 12, 1998, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Boston McCune at his house in Kansas City, KS.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He worked from age 15 until 80 as a drywall finisher where he owned his own business, Tom the Taper. He was active in Kiwanis International for over thirty years.

He enjoyed staying home and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He loved his kids and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Kathleen; two sons, Michael McCune and wife Carolyn of Kansas City, MO and Thomas McCune of Overland Park, KS; daughter Pamela Weir of Leavenworth, KS; sixteen grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and great friends He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steve McCune; daughter, Theresa McCune; and siblings, Lorraine Hotujac, Wanda McCune, Donny McCune, and David McCune.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7, 2019 with a visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time at Maple Hill Funeral Home. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Thomas Earl McCune Jr. please visit our Sympathy Store.
