Thomas F. Milcarek October 2, 1940 – May 15, 2019 Thomas F. Milcarek, 78, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 7:56 am in his home. Private family services were conducted. Burial took place in Greenwood Cemetery Section B. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN handled arrangements.

He was born October 2, 1940 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Frank and Marie (Salat) Milcarek. On September 12, 1959 in Niles, MI he married Marianne Smole who survives in Michigan City, IN. Also surviving are a daughter, Suzanne (Douglas) Komp of Michigan City, IN; granddaughter, Megan Komp of Valparaiso, IN; and his sister, Rita Michalak of Michigan City, IN.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Volkmann; and brother, Michael Milcarek. Thomas retired as a manager after 33 years at Weil McLain. He was a past board member of the Indiana Gaming Commission, Michigan City Park Board and the Urban Enterprise Zone Board.

Thomas received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Governor Bayh. He enjoyed restoring antique Farmall tractors and watching NASCAR.
