On December 21, 2018, Thomas “Toss” Farnsworth, loving husband and father of three, passed away at age 75. Tom was born on April 20, 1943 in Portland, Maine to Richard Farnsworth and Diane Turner Roberts. Tom received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy and served as a Merchant Marine for about five years.

He then moved to Maryland, where he transitioned into a career with NAVSEA focused on Naval Ship design projects for the next 28 years. On July 13, 1968, he married Carol Taute, the love of his life, and they raised three children in White Plains, Maryland. In retirement, he and Carol moved to Cobb Island and enjoyed 14 years of quiet mornings on their front deck drinking coffee and admiring the waterfront view.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents but is survived by his wife Carol; his kids, Brooks, Wendy and Brad; his brothers, Richard and David; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue in La Plata, Maryland at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at a later date.
