Obituary for Thomas Gregory White Thomas Gregory White Evans, GA- Tom passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, December 8, 2018 after suffering for many years with Multiple System Atrophy. He was originally from Bordentown, NJ and lived in Germany during his youth. His family moved to Augusta when he was 12 and he was a 1966 graduate of Richmond Academy and received his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Education at Augusta College.
Tom had a love of family, history, teaching, and hunting. He shared his love of history with his students at Richmond Academy and Butler High School and retired as a school administrator at Columbia Middle School. At different times in his life he was active with the Augusta Players, the Augusta Symphony Guild, Big Buckhead Hunting Club, and NN Goodtime Emporium.
He was also a member of National Hills Baptist Church. Tom is survived by his two children, John and Zoe, as well as many longtime friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, LTC John W. White, II and Gertrude (Marian) White, as well as his brother, William (Bill) White.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at National Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Steele officiating. If so desired, memorials may be made to National Hills Baptist Church, 2725 Washington Rd. , Augusta, GA 30909.
