Obituary for Thomas J. Tortorice Thomas J. Tortorice, 89, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Formerly of Mayfield Heights, OH, he had been a Bonita Springs resident for the last 30 years. He was born February 5, 1929 in Steubenville, OH, the son of Domenico “Tom” and Lena (née DiLeonardo) Tortorice.

He was the owner of Tom’s Transportation until the time of his death. He was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a member of the American Legion. He retired from Reliance Electric with 40 years of service.

He was a recent Collier County Honor Flight recipient. Mr. Tortorice is survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Thomas (Laurie) Marotta of University Heights, OH, Debra (Joseph) Abazzio of Lyndhurst, OH, Linda Tortorice of Mayfield Heights, OH, Gail (Paul) Sobczyk of Parma, OH. Michael (Kathleen) Marotta of Avon, OH, Thomas (Marti) Tortorice of Dallas, TX and Gary Tortorice of Willowick, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28300 Beaumont Rd. , Bonita Springs. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Memorial Garden, 625 111th Ave.

N, Naples, FL. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eileen (née Nolan) in 2013. Services are being scheduled and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Honor Flight Network, www. honorflight.org. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home – Family Owned Since 1978.
