Thomas Joseph Higdon, 60, of North Vernon passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus. Born August 5, 1958, in Seymour, Mr. Higdon was the son of Billie (Williams) Higdon and the late William Joseph Higdon. Mr. Higdon was a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del Senior/Junior High School in Ripley County.

He worked for H&L Tree Trimming in North Vernon and was a gravedigger for Vernon Cemetery. He enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Jr and Jimmie Johnson, fishing, Reece’s cups and having fun with family and friends. Survivors include sons, Cody Higdon of Lawrenceburg and T.J. Higdon of Uniontown; daughters, Kim Pigmon of Greensburg, Crystal Higgins of Vevay and Katie McCarthur of Osgood; his mother, Billie Higdon of North Vernon; sister, Teresa Minor of North Vernon; several grandchildren; niece, Trista Scoggins of Batesville; nephew, Adam Craig of Greensburg, and great niece and nephews, Bailey Scoggins and Sierra Scoggins both of Batesville, and Trenton Popejoy of Osgood.

He was preceded in death by his father; and niece, Felicia Craig. A funeral service for Mr. Higdon will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating.

Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. Memorials may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
