Thomas Robert Blase, 41, of Omaha, died on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home in Omaha. The family invites everyone to join them for a time of fellowship and lunch on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Solt-Wagner Community Room in Central City. soltwagnerfuneral.com. Thomas Robert Blase was born on November 14, 1977 to Robert and Avis (Elvers) Blase in Aurora, Nebraska. Thomas attended Polk-Hordville Schools and graduated from Polk-Hordville High School in 1996.

He received The Presidential Scholarship to Dana College in Blair and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. While at Dana he served on the Student Senate and was a huge presence on campus. He was involved in many activities and created a circle of lifelong friends.

Following his graduation from college, his love of cars led him to being a car salesman for Woodhouse in Blair. After several years of being a successful salesman he was promoted to finance manager. He was a dedicated and loyal employee at Woodhouse and enjoyed meeting new people every day.

Thomas enjoyed traveling with his friends and family and was able to visit many places throughout the United States, including Hawaii, as well as taking multiple cruises and traveling several times to Mexico. He was an avid Oakland Raiders and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and attended many games across the United States. One of his fondest memories was being able to attend the Super Bowl in 2011.

Thomas’ sense of humor was well known and he enjoyed telling stories that entertained those around him. He could find delight in just about anything he was involved in. His love and compassion for others was something all who knew him witnessed firsthand.

Thomas had an incredible group of friends. They supported him, provided him with love and laughter and cherished him as a brother. Even with his dedication to work, travel and his time with friends, Thomas’ greatest joy in his life were his children.

He enjoyed traveling with them, watching them play sports and participated in many school activities with them. He cherished them and loved them deeply, always making them the top priority in his life. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Riley Joseph Blase and Amelia Grace Blase of Bennington, and Alexandria Blase of Omaha; his parents, Robert and Avis Blase of Osceola; his sister, Wendy (Shawn) Bailey of Omaha; his nieces, Makenna, Avery, and Cassidy Bailey of Omaha; his special friend, Megan Oquist of Exeter and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
