OBITUARY Thomas W. Pott July 17, 1928 – December 7, 2018 Thomas W. Pott, 90 of Independence, MO passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 in Raymore, MO. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10010 E. 40 Highway, Independence, MO with the visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery. Thomas was born July 17, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to John H. and Marie (Kerkering) Pott. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.

Thomas was a 60 year member of Nativity of Mary Church. He volunteered as an usher, assisted in their Food Pantry and spent many hours mowing and doing grounds maintenance for the church. In his spare time he worked crossword puzzles, played computer games and was an avid supporter of the Oakland Raiders Football Team.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of 50 plus years, Velma Pott and his son, Michael Pott. He is survived by two daughters, Theresa (Dennis) Stewart and Suzanne (Kenneth) Barncord; one sister, Kathryn Pott; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box #300, Chamberlain, S.D. 57325.
