Todd’s Obituary Todd Alan Elliott, 50, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 6th in Waterloo, Iowa. Todd, the son of Kenneth and Joyce (Thomas) Elliott, was born in Waterloo, Iowa on July 28th, 1968. He grew up in Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1986, was active in band playing the saxophone, and emceed numerous talent and variety shows.
Todd attended Iowa State University for a short stint, went on to receive a B.A. in Geography in 1991 from the University of Northern Iowa and was a proud alumni of Delta Chi fraternity. Todd lived briefly in Washington, Iowa while working for Schwann’s Food Company, then moved back to Waterloo to work for Progressive Insurance many years. More recently, Todd worked in sales for Popcorn Heaven, as a travel consultant for Short’s Travel Management, and as a service manager for DR.
PowerSports. Most importantly, he was proud of being the Non-Attorney Spokesperson at TAE Consulting, though he never let that interfere with his full-time position of sharing his humor, wit, knowledge, and worldly opinions via his extremely popular Facebook posts. Who could forget the ongoing reviews of the 25th Tour de Valley of Pizza, and the recently kicked off Tour de Valley of Good Eats.
Todd was an avid and proud UNI Panther and Iowa Hawkeye fan, while also passionately cheering on his New York Yankees. He enjoyed traveling around the United States, accompanied his dad on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., loved spending valuable time with his family and friends, and was an active organizer for his Cedar Falls class reunions. Todd will be genuinely missed as a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Todd is survived by his parents, a brother Tony (Kristine) of Grimes, an uncle Darrell Thomas of Sioux City, an aunt Kathryn (Jim) Timmer of Cedar Falls, an aunt Marvilyn Thomas of Middleton, WI, an aunt Bertha Althaus of Independence, nieces and nephews, Mikayla, Nick, Matt, Courtney, and Scott, and numerous cousins. Todd was preceded in death by his sister, Regina Elliott-Wach Gibson in 2009, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at a later date.
Visitation will be 4 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family for charitable causes. Online condolences may be left at www.
