Tommy K Absher , October 14, 1932 — September 07, 2018

Tommy K. Absher 85 of Washington, Utah, formerly of Verda, Ky, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 with his wife by his side at the Southern Utah Veterans home following a brief illness. He was born October 14, 1932 to Jack and Pearl King Absher. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his previous wife Martha Absher, his brothers Lonnie, Ralph and Brezeal, his sisters Myrtle, Barbara, Lois and several infant siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife Terry Riley, two sons Gary (Mary Lou) Absher and David (Mary) Absher, a special niece Hope Clem, step children Sissy Scarbrough, Laura Andrade, Randy Finlay and Ted Riley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, step grandchildren and many other family and friends. Tom was a member of the Verda First Baptist Church and the Saint George Community Church.

Tom was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force having proudly served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Most notably as a refrigeration supervisor on the Titan II Missile. Tom was a good Christian and has accomplished many things in his lifetime.

At the great age of 82 he wrote and published his first book and then completed two more. Tom loved to travel, fish and cheer on the Kentucky Wildcats. He was often heard sharing his coaching abilities as well.

He was the most loving husband and he will be greatly missed by his wife Terry, family and friends. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville Kentucky with Reverend Danny McCreary officiating. Music will be by Megan Clem LeMaster and favorite recordings by Charlie Landsborough) Military Rites U.S. Air Force Honor Guard & The American Legion Post 8.

The following are excerpts from Tom’s book, Bits n’ Pieces of My Mind I wish for you always, a smile that never fades and a heart that never hates, An everlasting touch that never hurts and a true faith that never breaks, A smile that is always present and I wish you only words that never sting, I wish you an angelic voice so clear, that heaven hushes and and listen when you sing. Though the last farewell is not easy, it has to be. Looking at my lifetime it’s not hard for me to see, just how lucky God has made me.
