OBITUARY Tommye Ree Milliken March 13, 1927 – July 23, 2018 Tommye Ree Milliken, age 91, passed away peacefully into the Lord’s hands on Monday July 23, 2018 at Villa South in Florence, MS. Tommye was born on March 13, 1927 in Tupelo, MS to Clysta Nichols and Tom Walls. She attended Pontotoc High School.

Tommye married Bill Milliken in 1952 and raised two children in Flowood, MS. Tommye worked as a hair dresser for many years in Pearl and also participated in local civic organizations such as the Lions Club and the Exchange Club of Flowood. She was instrumental in structuring the volunteer division at River Oaks Hospital and humbly offered her time for 25 years.

She was a member of Drakes United Methodist Church where she held many positions and was on many committees; teaching Sunday school and leading the kids choral groups. Tommye’s hobbies included being an avid bowler in the metro area where she received numerous awards, medals, and pins for her talented achievements. She was also a member of the American Poet Society and had several of her writings published.

She enjoyed time singing with her family and loved listening to her husband play guitar. Anyone who met Tommye fell in love with her instantly. She was a very proud and driven Lady who loved the Lord and her Family deeply.

She pushed you to become the best version of yourself. Her class and style combined with her elegance, grace, and grit made her the unique, beautiful southern Lady everyone adored and will be deeply missed. She is survived by daughter, Tamara Milliken, a grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by Bill Milliken and her son, Kevin Milliken. Funeral Services will be held at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS on Thursday July 26, 2018 at 10:00 am. Visitation for Tommye Ree Milliken will be held at Baldwin Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, MS on July 25, 2018 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm.

FAMILY She is survived by daughter, Tamara Milliken, a grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Bill Milliken and her son, Kevin Milliken.
