OBITUARY Frances Owen Cowan July 13, 1931 – September 10, 2018 Frances Owen Cowan, 87, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at Merit Health Central in Jackson. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 11:00am, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Fannin with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Frances was born July 13, 1931, in Fannin, a daughter of the late Carey Aldridge and Fannie Maude Whittington Aldridge. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church of Fannin.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Frances lovingly cared for her family. She took pride in her house and enjoyed cooking for her family and neighbors. Frances was well known in her community, and was a true and loyal friend to many people throughout her lifetime.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Cowan, Sr.; son, Gary Cowan; and daughter, Marti Prisock. Survivors include son, James P. “Jimmy” Cowan, Jr.; daughter, Fran Cowan Holmes; grandchildren, Trey Cowan, Megan Booth, Triston Cowan, Samantha Holmes, Dillon Prisock, Kirstie Wilson, and Brady Brooks; and 6 great-grandchildren.
