Torrance James Larson Obituary Photo

Holladay, UT – Our precious son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend went home to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on May 14, 2019. Torrance was born to Ronald and Patricia Larson on the beautiful morning of June 3, 1986 and was the light and joy of our lives. He was taken too soon by a disease that has robbed so many families of precious children and this world will not be the same without him.

We lost our son to addiction and we are proud of the battle he fought and won and how many times he won before he didn’t. Although caught in the fray, Torrance was so much more than the battle he fought. Torrance was always a very fun loving and polite young man.

He made friends easily and they became lifelong friends. Torrance also loved his family. He had a great relationship with his many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.

In school he was an accomplished student, being awarded the Presidential Fitness Award and played the tuba with the youth symphony in Junior High School. Torrance loved music and learned to play the guitar. He was also an eagle Scout.

Torrance graduated from Olympus High School in 2004. Torrance went to college for two years at Northwood University in West Palm Beach, FL. In 2008.

Torrance led a very active life and was a certified lifeguard, and certified ski and snowboard instructor. He spent a summer as a lifeguard at Dana Point Yacht Club in southern California. Torrance’s true passion was snowboarding.

He found his home in the mountains. Torrance loved Brighton Ski Resort. It was his second home.

He worked as a waiter at Ruth Chris Steak House and loved working in the hospitality industry serving people. Torrance had a very special life-long bond with his sister Kara. They were very close to each other.

Kara’s children, Max and Ava May remind the whole family of Torrance and Kara when they were small. He loved his family and friends with all his heart. Especially his mom, dad, and sister who never gave up hope throughout his struggle and helped him right to the end.

Torrance will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Torrance is survived by his father Ronald Edward Larson, Jr., mother Patricia Wright Larson, sister Kara Maria Larson, Angel Doss Torrance’s beautiful and loving girlfriend, nephew Maximus Granillo and niece Ava May Granillo. Funeral services celebrating Torrance’s life will be held on May 20th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Holladay 10th Ward Chapel, 4601 South Chapel Drive (2565 East), Holladay, UT.

84117 at 11:00am. A light lunch will be held after the service. A viewing will be held at Holbrook Mortuary on Sunday May 19th from 4:00 to 6:00pm and at the church Monday morning 9:30-10:30am prior to the service.

Interment will be at the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, UT. Torrance spent many happy summers on the lake there. In the words of Bob Marley which was Torrance’s favorite music; “Love the life you live, live the life you love”.

Torrance is free now to fly with the angels, free from pain and free from addiction. We as a family are at peace because we know Torrance’s spirit will always be with us and watching over us. Love never dies.
