Tosha L Shawn Summers, January 04, 1975 — November 12, 2018

Ms. Tosha’s Obituary Our Angel, Tosha LaShawn Summers left this life to return to the open arms of her Creator on Monday, November 12, 2018. A daughter of Ms. Dorothy “Liz” Summers and the late Mr. Harold Brown, she was born on January 4, 1975 in Charleston, South Carolina. Tosha grew up in Holly Hill and attended the public Schools of Orangeburg School District #3 .

She graduated with the Class of 1994 at Holly Hill-Roberts High School. She was a devoted teacher of preschool children, first at Hope Lutheran Learning Center in Vance, South Carolina, and finally at La Petite Academy in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Her greatest joy was helping children discover new learning and positive attitudes.

This joy was a part of her life for thirteen years until she became ill. She was chosen 2014-2015 “Teacher of the Year” at La Petite Academy. Tosha was baptized and became a faithful member of Lovely Hill Baptist Church in 1988.

She was a worker in Children’s Church and served as a member of the Trustee Board. She had a calm , sweet personality and was loved by many people. She was a quiet, gentle person, but showed her daring spirit thru her sharp selection of fashionable clothing and shoes.

Her “diva” spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Blondell Summers; her maternal grandfather, Mr. Hildy Brand Summers; a dear aunt, Ms. Hilda Summers; a dear cousin, Miss Adrian Lambright, and two uncles: Mr. Ronnie D Gaillard and Mr. James P. Lambright. Tosha will always remain in the hearts of her loving and devoted mother, Ms. Dorothy “Liz” Summers of the home; a loving and devoted brother, Reverend Ronald D. (Yolanda) Summers, Sr. of ST.

George, SC; her dear aunt, Mrs. Debra Lambright of Santee, SC; uncles: Randy ( Shawquana) Summers of Moncks Corner, SC; Jerome Summers of Santee, SC, Donnie Summers of Columbia, SC, Joe Nathan Summers of Bennettsville, SC and Anthony Summers of Mississippi; her step-grandmother, Mrs. Annie Bell Summers of Holly Hill, SC; and a host of dear cousins , loving friends and church family.
